Last week, Nicki Adams, a mom from Maryland, shared this letter her daughter, Belle, wrote.
Adams wrote that Belle asked Adams and her husband about Santa and they decided to be honest. The only thing that made it worse was when they started laughing about the note she slid under the door afterward.

"This letter was a snapshot in time and we thought other families could relate to the dilemma," she said.
But at the same time, she said, a lot of people have had a pretty intense reaction to Belle's letter. "I think we can all remember writing notes to our parents or feeling that way as a child," she said.
